Essex Elementary School has historically been served by bus service for all attending students K-2.

• The EWSD does not provide Pre-K transportation on general education routes.

• If your student has an IEP that includes transportation, and you have questions, contact your case manager.

• Every Wednesday, students will be dismissed at 1:30.  Please make arrangements for your child’s afterschool pick-up plan and be sure to include them in Pick Up Patrol. If you need care for children because of early dismissal, visit the After School page.

• Families can access Essex Elementary School via Bixby Hill Road for dropping off or picking up.

• Morning drop off time is between 7:15-7:30am.

• We ask parents who are picking up their children from school to stay out of the bus lane. Guardians must park their cars in the parking lot, and make contact with your child's teacher before leaving with your child at the 2:35p.m. pick up time (1:35p.m. on Wednesdays).

• Listen to the bus driver.

• Sit facing forward.

• Keep the aisle clear.

• Stay in assigned seat.

• Wait until the bus stops to stand up.

• Talk quietly to your neighbor.

• Hands and feet to self.

• No food or drinks.

• Walk single file on and off the bus.
