The Essex Westford School District is seeking full-time Mainstream Instructional Assistants in grades K-8, beginning in the 24/25 school year. In this role, you get to assist and supervise students instructionally, behaviorally, and physically in the general mainstream program. The EWSD Librarians look back on the 2023-2024 school year! Discover their favorite books, student top picks, circulation stats, and the community they served.

Team Equinox at EMS participated in the Trout in the Classroom (TIC) program this year. Through TIC, classrooms get 100 brook trout eggs from the Vermont hatchery in January and they raise them until it is time to release them into a local stream. Along the way, students learn about water quality, fish life cycles, and riparian habitats. Team Equinox successfully raised and released 72 trout into the Browns River on May 28.

EMS hosted a tree planting and mulching ceremony to commemorate Arbor Day. The Essex Conservation and Trails Committee, along with Full Circle Gardens planted the Hop Hornbeam tree in front of EMS by the sidewalks. The science teachers put together a list of students from each team to represent the student body, who participated in the ceremony by mulching/watering the tree.

Essex Middle School is hosting a Parent Night on Tuesday, May 14 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the EMS Cafeteria. This meeting is intended for only the parents and guardians of rising 6th grade students.

The ADL Rock Band Showcase will be held on Tuesday, May 14 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Double E Performance Center. Get ready to rock at an all-star performance of the more than two dozen 6-8th grade participants in the ADL Rock Band. Tickets are $8 for adults, and free for students 17 and under. All proceeds support ADL band programs.

EHS Theater students invite you to join a character tea party on Saturday, May 18 at 10 a.m. in the Essex High School Cafeteria. Come enjoy tea and treats with the cast of Anastasia! Tickets are $8.

The EWSD Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) is inviting families for a free night out to meet other families, learn about available resources, and establish connections in a safe and inclusive environment.
