A student's return to school following a concussion is an extremely individualized process.  Concussion management is best accomplished by good communication and collaboration among parents, the school, and the health care provider.  

To ensure concussed students are identified, treated, and referred appropriately the Essex Westford School District has developed a Concussion Action Plan (in accordance with Vermont State Concussion Law, Act 68). 

If a student is suspected of having or is diagnosed with a concussion, the EWSD Concussion Action Plan will be used to guide their return to learn and, if applicable, their return to play.
