Hello! My name is Amanda Biggs and I am honored to serve the FMS community in the role of School Librarian. I've lived in Vermont for 20 years, and have been a book worm my entire life. I recently completed coursework to obtain my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in School Library Media Science from The University of Vermont.
I firmly believe that books have the ability to help us create connections and foster a deep sense of community and belonging. I aim to build a culture of literacy where all students have a safe space to grow and learn, while they develop a lifelong love of reading and information seeking.
I hold a special place in my heart for picture books, graphic novels, and middle grade fantasy fiction books, so I feel right at home in the FMS library.
Outside of the library, I keep busy with my husband and two very active young daughters (who all love to read). I also teach dance at a local performing arts studio in the evenings.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or suggestions!
