Kerry Mahoney
Hi! My name is Kerry Mahoney and I am a first grade teacher at Summit Street School. I grew up in Essex and I love this community. This will be my eighteenth year working at this school. I started teaching in Burlington in 1997. I have taught both kindergarten and first grade.
I enjoy spending time with my husband, Jason, and my two children, Amanda and Chris. We like traveling, going to sporting events, attending concerts, and playing with our golden retriever, Tucker. We also enjoy visiting my mom at work. She is one of the “snack ladies” at Costco! Amanda is a third grade teacher in Milton and Chris is working toward a career in law enforcement.
I am very excited for another wonderful year! Summit is a great place to be and I am so grateful to be working with so many amazing students and staff!

Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year!
Dear First Grader,
It’s Ms. Mahoney here and I wanted to let you know I am very excited that you are in my class! I can’t wait for a great year together! I know you will make many new friends and we will have a lot of fun! How has your summer been? I have been swimming, riding my bike, and reading. I hope you are reading a lot of great books this summer, too! I also like spending time with my husband, Jason, and my two children, Amanda and Chris. Amanda is a third grade teacher and Chris is working toward becoming a police officer. I have a golden retriever named Tucker. He loves to eat ice cream and then bring me back his empty dish!
I have also spent a lot of time this summer getting everything ready for you. I hope you are very excited about coming to school, but it is okay to be a little bit nervous too. I am confident we will have a great time learning many new things together.
I am looking forward to a wonderful first grade year!! Enjoy the rest of your summer. I’ll see you soon!
Sincerely,
Ms. Mahoney
