EWSD has embraced a forward-thinking model that consolidates Property Services and Safety and Emergency Preparedness into a single department: Facilities and District Safety. The research clearly points to the fact that the two functions are inseparable and operate best when combined and are cohesive. EWSD Facilities & District Safety Division works as a team to support the District’s mission of instructional leadership and the needs of our community.

The combined Facilities and District Safety team consists of more than 90 staff members who provide valuable service to our learning community: cleaning and protecting nearly 1 million square feet of space, performing grounds maintenance for 442 acres of property, welcoming staff and visitors, and overseeing many special projects to make our campuses accessible and safe.

Our primary objective is maintaining safe school buildings, with over 5200 students and staff daily, doing all this while contributing to a positive learning experience - “growing hearts and minds for a better today and tomorrow, every day, every way, every one.”
