Student Support Services

The Office of Student Support Services at the Essex Westford School District is committed to meeting the needs of all students. Collectively, we support and help to coordinate the following areas:

  • Special Education

  • Section 504

  • School Counselor Services

  • Mental Health Services

  • Nursing Services

  • Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE - previously EEE)

  • Prekindergarten Opportunities

  • Homelessness Supports

  • Multi Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)

  • Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS)

  • Restorative Practices

  • Assistive Technology

Each school across EWSD supports these areas through a variety of faculty, staff and structures.  In addition to school facilitation and leadership, the Directors below support schools on an ongoing basis.

Erin Maguire

Erin serves at the LEA (Local Education Agency - individual responsible for special education), homelessness liaison, 504 support, and Response to Intervention (RTI)/MTSS (Multi Tiered System of Supports) support for the following schools:

  • Hiawatha Elementary School

  • Summit Street School

  • Thomas Fleming School

  • Albert D. Lawton Intermediate School

  • Westford Elementary School and

  • Essex High School

Erin is also the Director of Equity and Inclusion, and she oversees prekindergarten for the school district. Erin was previously the Executive Director of Student Support Services for Chittenden Central Supervisory Union and has a background as a leader as well as a science teacher, paraeducator, and special educator over the last 25 years.

Dylan serves at the LEA (Local Education Agency - individual responsible for special education), homelessness liaison, 504 support, and Response to Intervention (RTI)/MTSS (Multi Tiered System of Supports) support for the following schools:

  • Essex Elementary School

  • Founders Memorial School

  • Essex Middle School

Dylan is also the Director of Social and Emotional Learning & Wellness for the district, and he oversees school psychology, social work services, PBIS, Restorative Practices, and school counseling.  Dylan was previously the Director of Student Support Services for the Essex Town School District and has a background as a leader as well as a school psychologist over the last 25 years.
