Prekindergarten

The Essex Westford School District has prekindergarten classrooms at Essex Elementary School, Hiawatha Elementary School, Summit Street School, and Westford School. Please visit our Pre-K in Our Schools page for additional information.

Eligible students are at least 3 years old on September 1st.

Space is limited in our school-based programs, and placement is determined by a lottery draw each year.

Act 166 funding covers 10 hours/week of tuition reimbursement for qualified, community-based, private prekindergarten programs. Please visit our Universal Pre-K/Act 166 page for additional information.

Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) at EWSD provides specialized support through IEPs for students ages 3-5 with disabilities in developmental delays. ECSE services may include individualized instruction, therapy services (speech, occupational, physical), and behavioral supports; and are designed to enhance school readiness and support participation in typical early childhood activities.
