Pathways to College & Dual Enrollment

Pathways to College Courses While Still in High School:

Center for Technology, Essex students often take advantage of taking college courses before they even graduate from high school. CTE has had students graduate with more than a semester's worth of completed college credits, which helps them gain admission to the colleges and universities of their choice.

Dual Enrollment: Dual Enrollment provides all high school students with two free vouchers to take college courses on campus or online Junior and Senior year at any participating Vermont college or university. We can help students apply, fill out voucher requests, register for the course, purchase textbooks, etc.

Fast Forward: The Fast Forward program allows eligible students enrolled in CTE programs to get credit for college courses taken at technical centers. Classes are scheduled during the regular CTE school day and taught by our teachers, who are VTC or CCV adjunct professors. Each student can take as many of these courses for free as fit into their schedule and work with their program in addition to their two free Dual Enrollment vouchers. We can help students apply, fill out voucher requests, and register for the fast forward course. Offerings at CTE

The School Counseling Department assists in guiding students in their post-secondary pursuits, whether that is 2-year or 4-year colleges, vocational schools, earning industry recognized credentials, or stepping out directly into a career.

We provide student access to college admissions recruiters, military recruiters, VSAC representatives, College and Career fairs, employers, etc. Our goal is to guide and explain the college applications process and help students feel comfortable and confident with the process. We are here to help!
