🎨 Hiawatha's 3rd-grade artists finished their beautiful fringe-edge weavings, and for the last few art classes, all K-3 students got to use the outdoor classroom to try drawing "en plein air." Plein air is a French word for "in the open air, " meaning drawing nature outside.
🎨 Students briefly learned about the history of the impressionists like Monet. They viewed some of his sketches and then used a viewfinder to find outdoor compositions to sketch. Artists did a fantastic job using their viewfinders and appreciating the nature around them.
