This week, first graders have been learning about patterns of the sun, moon and sky. They have been observing the world around them and gathering information from both the illustrations and the text in nonfiction books in order to build their understanding of the pattern of day and night. Students have loved modeling the way the earth rotates on its axis, causing the sun to shine on different parts of the Earth.
