Pre-K in Our Schools

The Essex Westford School District offers school-based prekindergarten programs at district elementary schools.

School-Based PK Registration FAQs

Eligible students are at least 3 years old on September 1st.

Space is limited in our school-based programs and placement is determined by a lottery draw.

Note: If you are only interested in registering your pre-K student to access Act 166 funding, please refer to our Universal Pre-K/Act 166 page. The information below pertains specifically to pre-K classrooms in EWSD's elementary schools.

School-Based Pre-K Registration

25-26 PK Registration Request

  • 2025-2026 School Year (Next School Year)

    • The EWSD is now accepting registration requests for pre-K enrollment for next school year. Please click on the 25-26 PK Registration Request button above to submit a registration request

    • Eligible students reside in Essex Junction, Essex Town, or Westford and are at least 3 years old on 9/1/25

    • The district will respond to your registration request via email with either an offer of a classroom slot or notification that your student is on the enrollment waiting list

      • Requests submitted in January and February > District response by March 15

      • Requests submitted in March and April > District response by May 1

      • Requests submitted May 1 onward > District response within 10 days of submission

    • The offer of a classroom slot will include instructions on how to complete new student registration

  • 2024-2025 School Year (Current School Year)

    • The EWSD is no longer accepting registration requests for pre-K enrollment for the current school year
