The EHS Entrepreneurship class and their guests from Tottori, Japan visited Local Maverick in downtown Burlington.
They learned from Ryan Nakleh, Founder of Local Maverick, about how Local Maverick brings together small businesses for mutual gain. They sampled local products and heard the story of how Francesca D'Elia built Homegrown Jewelry from a high school side gig to a successful full-time venture.
They were also joined by Brett Long, Deputy Commissioner of Vermont's Department of Economic Development.
The student guests from Tottori also shared about small businesses in their community, helping everyone to connect the power of creative entrepreneurship and networking.
